Marta
is a Glasgow based professional dancer and performer.
Her
interests lie in a multidisciplinary approach to performance, which
recently has been focussing on how contemporary dance meets theatre
and music (sound and voice) to enhance each other potential of
communication and expression.
Marta
often uses Improvisation in her own practice and teaching, aiming to
find the individual behind the form and aesthetic, trying to explore,
experiment and challenge without loosing the integrity and honesty of
the self.
Marta
was born in Verona, where she combined her dance training with
Humanities studies in Literature and Philosophy at the University of
Verona. She graduated with a first class honours degree at London
Contemporary Dance School and joined Scottish Dance Theatre as an
apprentice for the season 2011-2012. Since then Marta has been
freelancing working for choreographers and companies around the UK,
performing nationally and internationally.
Thanks
to Creative Scotland Professional Development fund, Marta has given
the opportunity to investigate and deepen her interest in CI,
Improvisation and Voice Work over the summer.
